Evicting an Ex

Help. My daughter stupidly ley her homeless boyfriend move in to her flat just a few months after they got together. Whilst I was cross with her for doing so, I beleived that she should make he own mistakes, I gave her advice but she chose to let him move in anyway. Recently her health has deteriorated and she has been very stressy. after a heart to heart it turns out her boyfriend (who is of asian background so has some cultural differences) has lost his job and moved his mother in. My daughter at the age of 23 is now supporting both of them, neither of them are paying any rent or contributing to bills or eben feeding themselves. She has said she doesn't know how to get them out and wants some help. Whilst my husband and I will go there and help her through this we have no idea legally where she stands and dont want to give her the wrong advice. Can anyone help?

I do not know a lot about this but I would take a look into the Landlord and Tendent act. if there name is not on the lease you may be able to get them removed, within 24 hour.

If she owns the house, it is as simple as changing the locks. The boyfriend and the mother have very few legal protections, she doesn't even need to get a court order to get them out. Write them a letter giving them a week to leave and then change the locks. If she rents the house it can be a bit more difficult as she may be in breach of her own tenancy agreement in letting them stay there, however the landlord should be happy to help if she explains she let them stay on a temporary basis and they won't go. She'll probably be charged for changing the locks though.
