Hey there guys and girls.

At this time of year (August) with the long summer days, and the time off that many people have; lots of people tend to go on holiday. Some people have holidays booked far in advance, however if you are anything like me you might even book it lastminute.com and get a cheap deal or go somewhere expected.

Will the arab spring and other ongoing issues in the world, it is always worth having a check out of the Foreign & Commonwealth office website for any relevant travel advice and guidance.

As for generic advice on how to plan for your holiday, please have a look at these cracking advice sheets.

    Holidays and airpoprts

Thanks, those threads were useful. I'll share a thing I came across http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcUbF8wLEAM which I'm going to use for my next holiday, when me and my sons are leaving from Manchester airport, heading for Vegas. It's a system whereby you book your airport parking at the same time as your ticket, and your credit/debit card gives you access to and exit from the airport car parking.

It may sound a silly think but I'be had bad experiences of trying to get out of a car park at 2am in the morning with the barrier stuck and the gaffer on a break!! This seems to take the worry out of that happening!

I'll let you know if it's as trouble free as the ad says!!
