After all the violence and killing that happened against pro-democracy demonstrators in Bahrain do you think King Hamad of Bahrain should be invited to the UK royal wedding?

The concept of monarchy is so fucking ridiculous in this day and age.

I can't even summon the words to express why its so mind bogglingly obvious that this man should not be allowed in to the country under any circumstances, let alone as an invited dignitary.

So it is only reported and not confirmed then?

Dictators or not, I'd love to be told who I was and was not allowed to bring to my own wedding.

    A real evil bastard

No King Hamad of Bahrain is not your average bastard monarch, hes a real evil bugger who turned his army against his own people, and when he failed to quell the revolt, he called in the Saudis!

GRAPHIC This is what the Saudis did to unarmed pro-democracy demonstrators GRAPHIC http://tinyurl.com/6y75dln

Please don't let him in the UK.

Hmm, has it actually been confirmed or is it just media hype?

It's confirmed. This video is all over the place. I saw it a few days ago.

I think G means, has it been confirmed that he's going to the wedding?

Being invited and him actually going are two very different things.

Whilst I would be against letting him go, what exact difference would it make if he did or did not attend?

    What's he going to do?

Get pissed and proposition one of the bridesmaids? Or just do an embarrassing dance?

He's gonna be that embarrassing uncle at the wedding, isn't he?

I read the title and thought that he was planning on taking a dump on the floor of Westminster Abbey or something. The above is also possible.

I think that weekend, my chums and I will disgrace ourselves in an attempt to complete the Circle line challenge.

    *facepalm*

Just realised that honour has already been taken by Andrew and Edward between them

I'm not clicking on either of those because I suspect that, at least, one of them will be the damned Safety Dance :p

Proof that oil is worth more than blood

Somehow when oil is involved the UK is always willing to look the other way...

    Army vs Pro democracy Demonstrators

    FACT:

Royal family in Bahrain enlisted military help from neighbouring Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to put down a peaceful pro-democracy uprising last month and sent army and security forces to violently crush dissent.

Assault on the health care system and the people who practice in it

    Fact:

At least thirty doctors and nurses have been arrested and held prisoner since March, and more paramedics and ambulance drivers went missing. Ambulances were blocked from aiding wounded patients.

Bahrain’s security forces stole ambulances and posed as medics to round up injured protesters during a ferocious crackdown on unarmed demonstrators calling for reform of the monarchy.

Doctors are disappearing as part of a systematic attack on medical staff. Many physicians are missing following interrogations by unknown security forces at local hospitals. :nervous:
