Urgent Dilemma

One of my best friends opened up to me and told me about the rubbish that’s been going on in his life. To cut a long story short he is up in the Crwon Court for sentencing today...I could make the 98 mile trip there to be there on time. If I do though, I’ll get mega grief from my parents)

If it were not for my parents I’d be on the train like a shot. What do I do?

Hearing is in just at 10:30am (as in 5 hours and 43 minutes from now)

I should add...very likley he will be going to prison for several years

I want to say "Don't go, you can visit him once he's been sent down." But, I know that's not what I'd do...

Do it, be a friend. Your parents will forgive you, your friend will remember you.

Agreed. Fine your parents don't like him, but it's not as if you're inviting him around for dinner is it. If he's going down I'm sure he'll appreciate a friendly face before he does.

Thank you for your addition WhoWhere. He was very glad to see me.

Must have cught the judge in a good mood...his Barrister was suggesting 20-26 months and he actually only got 9 in the end so I suppose you can say that was a "good result".

Good for you, I hope he appreciates what you've done for him.
