Anti-Cuts Campaigns

Please remove this mods, if you think it's inappropriate... But I thought it'd be a good idea to start a thread about the anti-cuts campaigning, listing dates, campaigns, or organisations people concerned about the cuts can get involved with...

Obviously I don't mean this as a thread to debate whether or not we agree with the cuts, just about what's going on for potential activists.

Protest Against the Cuts - 5th March demo in London

    Here's the NSSN website***

    Here's the Facebook event

In London we will March to Labour's local government conference. Every Labour council in Britain keeps telling us that it has ‘no choice’ but to implement the cuts – but that just isn’t true. If any council was to stop acting as collaborators with the Tory axe wielders, and instead want to stand up and fight, they would discover there were a thousand ways to defy the cuts.

    Assemble at 11am,
    Geraldine Mary
    Harmsworth Park,
    Imperial War Museum,
    Southwark London, SE11

***The NSSN Stands for National Shop Stewards Network... They are an affiliation of Trade Union Congress affiliated, trade union workplace reps... Basically, if you're in a trade union and wish to get involved in a democratic, non-partisan, grassroots movement, you may like NSSN. This January, they had their annual conference and voted hugely, in favour of launching an anti-cuts campaign. You don't have to be a trade union member to come to the demo though! It's just that they are organising it.
