Hi there :wave:
On Tuesday 15th February from 7-8pm we’ll be joined by Karina from 42nd Street.
She'll be dropping in to the chat room to answer your questions about anything that's on your mind, or you're curious about, related to mental health and specifically to self-harm.
42nd Street is a mental health support organisation for young people based in Manchester, Salford and Trafford. They've been supporting young people who self harm for many years and have an on-going commitment to highlight the needs of young people who self-harm, challenging negative stereotypes and misinformation. Karina has been working with and supporting young people for over 20 years. She's been involved in a self harm group that went on to run conferences around self harm for staff in Manchester and London. She also supported young people from 42nd Street to produce the video we now have on supporting someone who self-harms.
It's important to remember that it's not possible for a chat like this to provide full one-to-one support for individual members - we'll be able to direct people to the best places for further help and offer plenty of advice and support.
You'll find that chat works a bit differently to a general chat session as all comments come through to one of us mods first to keep things in order and make sure everyone's questions get answered
