Hiya guys,

I have a job interview on Wednesday for my dream job. I've already beaten off some stiff competition (advertised on Guardian Jobs amongst other things down to the last 4 or 5 people) and I have to do a presentation in my intensive 4 hour interview :S

I'm ok with the whole standing up and chatting crap thing. Confidence is not an issue but the topic is a bit close to home and I could do with some alternative views on the situation.

The presentation title is

"the benefits to students of volunteer participation in student media"

Have any of you guys been involved in student media, past or present?
I come from a newspaper/print background and although I think many of the benefits I know are transferrable to video/radio format etc any other benefits that you guys know of would be infinitely helpful.

Thanks in advance :D

    Hi StarCrossed,

Not sure if this is too late, but there is lots of information about the benefits of volunteering in general on websites such as TimeBank

Hope the interview goes/went well :)
