This is another oldies alert I'm afraid, mainly confined to 1994 :-) Okay, I'm describing rap music where there is tuning to the spoken lyrics, but only (usually) on 3 adjacent notes. Examples are:

Red Dragon - Compliments On Your Kiss
CJ Lewis - Sweets For My Sweet
Baby D - I Need Your Loving (the rap part)
Basement Jaxx - Fly Life
The middle (rap) part of 7 Seconds
Possibly some Reel 2 Real as well

Cheers guys!

Thanks Skive! I know it's not really a recognised rap in today's music, but I suddenly remembered amidst my oldskool nostalgia and was trying the find out :-) I liked how this rap (ragga) was also used in oldskool jungle, before the genre widened out into 'drum n base'.
