Does anybody know when and how I should go about telling my university i want to take a gap year. Thanks.

are u at uni?
or do u have a conditional offer and are waiting for grades or something?
if so, on results day, if u have the results u need to get into the course, you can just ring them and ask them to defer the place til next year as you wish to take a gap year. they will keep the place. if you are already at uni and want to interrupt your studies for a year then im not too sure

If you have an unconditional offer, contact admissions at the uni now and find out if it is possible to defer until the following year of entry...if you have a conditional offer, await results and then call admissions and ask about deferring. If you are already at uni, spaek to your personal tutor or careers office for information.
