i'm not sure if anyone will know the answer to this.
if you write a letter to someone who is in prison, is it copied onto some sort of system/photocopied? is a record made of who wrote to who on what day?
i know that they read them. im just wondering whether they record who writes in to prisoners thats all.

Primarily they focus on drugs law but I understand they are pretty good about human rights issues, which this falls under.
You could also contact the legal advisors on asktheSite, who should be able to find out for you.
Anything of note means the whole letter gets photocopied.
If you send a letter without a return address on...the inmate often doesn't get it or know anything about it.
If the screws are in a good mood they might let you read it in their office and then it's destroyed.
urgh.
what if as an inmate you send something out to someone? does that get recorded too?
Yup.
If they didn't and someone escaped ...killed someone ...
Oh sorry we never thought to keep an eye on him/her.
It's a secure environment in every sense of the word.
I'm doing a bit of visiting and writting myself recently ....
however, because of my job, i don't really want to when i supposedly don't have contact with this person. i'd be shooting myself in the foot.
Fucking hope not.
They're there as a punishment, not to surf the net with my tax dollars.
Not to my knowledge other than maybe ...a course ...in a classromm ...they aint lying on there bunks joining forums.
