Going to Majorca next month and need travel insurance. With the bombings and stuff I want to get a decent one that covers delayed planes etc but with travel insurance I normally just find one that covers missing bags and stuff, so I'm quite confused as to what I should be looking for, can anyone help? Or recommend me a company?

I do the exact opposite to you.

I stuff the lost bags, and delays and go for the medical insurance

if you actually read some of the coditions of some policies you'd need t produce a receit for everything lost in your bags, etc

to me the medical stuff is the most important and I usually get yearly policy as well.

Just use a price comparison website.

I always get one with good medical cover, most of them do have that anyway. I'm just thinking of the incidents in Majorca at the mo.

Cool I'll check out the po then, ta :)

I get mine free with my bank account and as long as I'm going within the EU, medical bills are covered by the E111 or whatever it is now.

EHIC (which replaced E111) is very very restricted in what it covers, so generally you need travel insurance as well. Its a common misbelief that it covers everything the NHS does for us here.

If you're worried about knock on effects from the bombings then you'll need to read the details of the policy very closely as pretty much everyone I've ever had excluded acts of terrorism.

Listen to your Mom, and NEVER travel abroad without travel insurance. You might think it's not worthwhile but just consider the expense involved in flying you home in the event of a nasty accident. And it wouldn't just be the flight, but the medical care before the journey home and the cost of an accompanying doctor/nurse in the air ambulance.
