Are you basing that on experience or are you just having a guess?
I was thinking around about the £300 mark too, probably much more in some places depending on the calibur of the artist...

You have to respect the fact that some people find tattoos horrible

Yes, I do understand and respect that fact but I really don't care if some people don't like Tattoo's.
I DO like Tattoo's and thats all that matters to me.
I don't care what other people think about them.

I didn't start this thread for it to be a debate on the aesthetic appeal of Tattoo's, I started this thread to find out the approximate cost of a particular style of Tattoo.
If people want to stir up a debate on the subject Id appreciate it if they did it in another thread rather than trying to bait me into some kind of childish argument.
I don't know, maybe thats just how it works around here
    Cheers.

Best bet is find a reputable place and get a quote. Cost can vary greatly at each place for each piece of work. Not only will the design create a great deifference in cost but so will the locataion (I'm sure some places are more expensive than others) the studio and the artist in the studio. You could be at the same place with one person charging a certian amount and another charging twice that. I'm from the US but I've found that the rule of thumb is x amount for the first hour/half hour and x amount for each half hour after. It will most likely take several sessions.

Just remember... as my downs syndrome simba is a reminder... cheap art is not good :p Always ask to see many many pictures of finished pieces.

Whoa I was just mentioning why someone might have said some of the things they did. I infact want to get a tattoo myself, I just cant decide what to get.

Where is the rule that everything has to stick to a particular strict topic, Its how things evolve and develope, infact im pretty sure you got your answers before the thread descended into what you may view as anarchy.

Hey its a public forum and shit happens, but no need to blow your lid about it :thumb:

From what I read in the thread, I wouldnt say you were being baited to get into any argument, people voiced their opinions and you reacted, without what seems to be any intent to get a reaction, just as aforementioned it was "voicing of opinions"

Just to fuel the fire, I think tattoos are ugly and common. Do you really see yourself with a bit of ink on your body when you're 60 years old? No, thought not. So cliched, so tired, so chavvy.

    Not getting wound up mate.
The first post was not an opinion but more of a "dig" at me for wanting to get a Tattoo, if you have a "dig" at someoneit is usually an attempt to draw them into some sort of debate.
Debating the aesthetics of Tattoo's is pretty pointless and isn't something I wish to waste my time doing, I like them some people don't thats cool, end of.
I'm new here and I think my expectations upon joining were a bit too high, other message boards that I frequent have a helpful community where people generally post constructive comments, obviously every corner of the web has its own "vibe" though.

Hi mate, I'm thinking about travelling to London to get a peice done I know for a world class artist there, if its going to be a part of me for the rest of my life I'm going to make sure it looks great even if it costs much more, you get what you pay for- A cheap Tatt is like cheap Sushi, not a good idea LOL
    Thanks for the tips:)

Yes, I'm as common as muck.
My working class roots are something I'm very proud of.
You can take the boy out of the council estate but you can't take the council estate out of the boy

Most 60 year olds look like shit anyway, I plan on still being in great shape though, so a tattoo won't look too bad.

You seem like a very narrow minded and over opinionated tosser to be honest mate.

Can you tell me why you felt that it was necessary post the above comments?
    I'm genuinly curious.

Well, atleast someone agrees with me that this Tattoo is the mutts nuts :)
I think its the shading and the attention to detail that really set it off, not like an average Tribal type design.
If I get it I'll have to go to a great artist thats for sure.
    Money well spent I think

So its more than ok to agree with you, but if you dont agree with yourself, then you dont want to know about it?

Who made you the all important one.

Im sorry but someone was just voicing their opinions on tattoos, did they actually say they had a problem with you getting one, ie what it looks like on you?

That was just a light off the cuff remark in an idle chit chat kind of way.
Calm down dear, don't get all excited.
Everyone has a right to an opinion.

    Anyway...
I don't care what happens to this thread now I'v found some interesting articles elsewhere
people can use it to advertise Viagra and Tamiflu if they wish.

    Have a nice day :)

A light off the cuff remark? So how come you react in the way you did to someone elses remarks as if they couldnt have been off the cuff remarks. I think you are a little angry inside and are now trying to cover your back.

I by the way, do like Tattoos.

I may be right or I may be wrong but I percieved it to be an attemp at taking the piss out of me.
In hindsight it probably was, but it wasn't a personal insult, just a general piss take aimed at tattoo'd people so I should probably have just let it glide over my head.
Thats the closest you're getting to an apology out of me :D

Common? Now that's a cliche, and what the fuck does that mean anyway?

Tattoos are art and therefore completely subjective so while you opinion that they're ugly is completely fair it doesn't mean a whole lot.

To be honest my friend, you seem like the narrow minded person for calling me a tosser just because I don't share your opinion on tattoos. When you post on an internet forum, you can't just disparage the views which are not commensurate with your own. As Pvt. G points out, it was a little more than an off-the-cuff remark.

Skiver, common means not rare :) To be honest, I see so many similar ones around, they don't look special at all. I can wholeheartedly say that I have never seen a tattoo that I liked or thought was endearing to the person sporting it. But hey, go for it if you want to, live and let live. Do what makes you happy.

I think about £250 but I very much doubt they'll be able to do it in the same session. Make sure you get a good artist and check their portfolio first, I made that mistake!

I think people are being too hard on Stu for wanting a tattoo, so what if some people dont like it.
He wanted to know how much one like that would cost, not if you all fucking like it..

The people who are airing their opinions on if they like it or not are just asking for a debate about it, if thats the case make a new thread.
