untangling a fine chain

i have a really fine white gold chain which after taking to h samuels to get the hook reattatched i've been given back with a fairly sizeable knot, i cant take it back cause i didn't notice it at the time and ive got not proof i didn't do it so can anyone give me some hints and tips on how to get the knot out, cause its in there pretty tight and untangling it by hand is having very little sucess, is it a case of just perservering until it loosens off?

A quick google seems to recomend using 2 pins, one in each hand, to pull the knot open and to use baby oil/cooking oil as lubricant.

Yeah, needles and patience are your friends when it comes to things like that. Glad you got it undone.
