I currently have a Denon CD/amp combo with a pair of Mission speakers, which are fairly good quality but need a bit more bass. I need an active subwoofer, since the amp only has a preout mono for the sub, and I'm not sure if a passive model would be compatible or get enough power from the amp.
The cheapest active subwoofer I could find is £70 on Richer Sounds. There have been a few on ebay, but most are either passive, part of a component system or for cars. I wondered if any of the PC speaker systems have an RCA input on the sub? As far as I know they are all either one 3.55 mm jack or USB input only. Otherwise does anyone know where I could get a cheap active sub?
