Mortgage = £369
Insurance = £21
Water = £15
Electrics = £15
Gas = £15
Phone = £41
Internet = £25
Council Tax = £70
That leaves me £429, about £100 per week. I try and save £15 per week though in case housing emergencies crop up.
ha, thats what im worried about
Ok. It can be more expensive than renting because you tend to want to kit your own house out nicely compared to one that you know is temporary and which someone else has bought the appliances for. But it doesn't have to be a big deal and you can spread stuff out over time. If you want new furniture then IKEA offers reasonable value.
hehe, thanks
Rough income per week: £160
minus
Rent: 60
Food: 40 (includes other bits like lunch, beer, etc.)
Bills: 10
So maybe about £50 'disposable' a week but I tend not to dispose of it, but don't get rich either. The life of a student. *sigh*
ha, oh noesss, you are so not well off as a student are you?
£50 a week after all food and bills have been paid for? thats luxury for a student!!!!!!!!!
My true disposable techincally = 0
As I reinvest as much of my money as I possibly can, even if that means leaving me short.
Thing is I don't think thats a true account of everything that I spend it on, so disposable income is likely to be less than that. I don't spend £50 a week or anywhere near but my bank balance still just goes down!
Income=£1300 (flat rate, not including unsocioable hours, extra pay for weekends)
Rent=£200
Pension=£100 (automatically taken from my wage)
Food=£120 (approx. for the month)
Phone=£20
Sky/internet=£20
Gym=£31
So after that I'll have £809 disposable income for the rest of the month. Oh mai...I don't think I've ever had that much money to my name :hyper:
I'll probably put another £100 or so in my savings :yes:
I'm the same I would have much more money if I didn't go out half as much!
520 Bills (accom/electric/tax/phone/sky
120 Car
130 insurance (all kinds)
300 Food
80 Wasted (bits/bobs)
1150 Bills
323 disposable
which will pay for the wedding mostly, etc etc, this is if we're not strict or on a budget and per month (I also get tips every 3months and income from ACF which isn't counted as it is iregular)
I still haven't worked out how people can get away with spending as little as £25 per week on food though. Without even considering meals out at i.e. Weatherspoons, I'm still spending £35+ per week.
It isn't hard to live on a budget of about £30pw for a single person or £50pw for a couple. It's about shopping smarter and deciding what luxuries you want, which luxuries you can afford and which ones you can do without.
The main reason why our shop's so low is because we do the main shop at Aldi, don't eat much meat, and we're blessed with one of the best food markets I've come across. But then KHSS will slap me for saying that yet again!
Meat is the big thing I think, it's pretty expensive...
Blimey, what do you do? Job wise?
Little bit of food for thought.
Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves.
Mortgage: £600
Bills: £352
Leaving me about 1k disposable income which is being put to one side for a deposit on a new house between us. We then live off the OH's salary.
OH has about £2900 a month after tax and pension, which goes on:
Mortgage: £630
Bills: £450
Car: £350
Food: £200
Leaving us about £1200 there as disposable income - I have no idea what we do with this but it seems to get spent. Too much socialising probably!
So after that i'm not sure where it goes I think the following is probably pretty accurate
Rent and bills £300
Savings Long Term £200
Savings Short Term (holidays) £200
Phone £50 - i need to change my tarrif
Contact Lenses £25
Food £150 - per month - I used to be able to do £25- 30 per week for the two of us but that seems to have gone up a bit recently.
Cleaner - £54
Which leaves the grand total of roughly £875 per month and i've no idea where that goes at all - but i guess i've been buying loads of stuff for my house recenty and a few new clothes and I go out to eat at least once a week - though i don't always pay - hummmmm its going to be a bit of a shock going down to only £400 a month soon....
