Car modifying job

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
This might be a daft question, but how would you go about looking for a job where someone could teach me how to fit things to cars in a garage.

Something like training, someone who shows me how to fit a certain item to a car, and then leave me to do it.

I realise that the best way to look for a job is to modify my own car, and let them judge whether or not I'm worth taking on etc or to modify my car and go to a car mod show
I would look for one this but I don't have the cash to do it.

I was thinking about writing a letter to a few car modding websites to see what they say about it.

Any help would be great.

I guess some companies might let you be an apprentice and learn while you work for less money. Do magazines like max power have any jobs listings?

I think the logical step would be to start off as a mechanic and develop a specialist subject then apply for one of the modding shops. Or you could phone one of the mechanic places up and ask them?
