Hospital Food...
What do you think of it...?
I now know it is horrible...
The toast in the morning that cums round is cold...
And like the Sunday roast dinners is like coldish and like slop...

Does anyone agree...

It's not good. You learn what to order though.

I was throwing up everything I was eating in hospital... As soon as I got home I got my apitite back.

I find it odd that the person in a bed one morning gets to chose what the person ni that bed eats the next day.

I agree it's not good, but considering the scale of the operation AND that they have to bring it to you it could be an awful lot worse. That said, if I was in hospital I think I'd be eating in the canteen!

If you were allowed down to the canteen.

I couldn't eat when I was in hospital! I was chucking up water and my pills :) So fortunately I didn't manage to struggle through much of it. What I did try, however, was RANCID.

I used to wash up in a hospital kitchen, they used to put all the leftovers in one bowl for me to get rid of... so I had shepherds pie, jelly and custard to tip down the waste disposal all mixed together :yuck:

When my mum was in hospital I used to smuggle in pizza for her from the takeaway down the road :)

Dependin on the type of ward the majority will let your family bring you food in. As long as lot's of food is not being kept around your bed they don't mind. I know relatives wo have brought patients lunch's and tea's in. Normally soup in a thermos flask, or salad.

The ward most probably won't re-heat in but they nromally have patient fridges so can keep yogurts, juice etc :)

Yeah the food isn't that great but for the amount they have and the number of patients to cater for it's hardly going to be amazing!

when i was in hospital the food was ok, but not great. I had people bring in tones of food. as it was a specialist hospital i think they only have a small cafe open during office hours, but i was hooked up to a machine, and thus couldn't move much.

its best to just bring in your own stuff

    I thought it was ok!

Obviously not gourmet, but I've definitely had worse. I  those tiny pots of ice-cream, too.

    Bad times :(

Leeds hospitals are so shit at everything else I suppose they have to have a strong point! Although I spent a couple of days at one of the Hull hospitals last year and the food there was ok too (and the ice cream frozen!).

    Clearly Yorkshire = awesome ;)

My last. lasting memory of Hospital food is pretty good, as it was the first ffod I'd actually had the ability to eat for ages.. although overall I think it's disgusting.. well maybe sometimes it aint, but the beef was just EUGH and the gravy was just as EUGH.

    I'm laughing cos it's true.
    Chavtastic.

To be honest I think Chesterfield and Sheffield are sort of a little thing of their own... We don't belong anywhere. :crying: They think we're notherners down in south derbyshire... and then you yorkshirites don't love us either.

I'm going to go say hello to my worm collection at the bottom of the garden now... They're my only friends. *sniff*
