Things to do in Nottingham

Right, me and the guy I'm seeing at the moment are doing something on saturday and he's asked me to come up with something. Trouble is I haven't got a clue what to do round here because I don't go into the city an awful lot. Apart from dining and cinema can anyone give me some good suggestions of something fun to make a day out of?

    Castle or go down by the trent, its nice to walk down by the river there with the bridges and theres this nice Victoria(think thats its name) garden which you can walk around.
