uni schedule

Look at me, using the proper "uni" term ;)

Anwho, I'm always curious. What is your schedule there? Like around the year... I dont know how else to explain it so for example...

I start at the end of august and go to just before christmas. that is fall semster

end of january to may being spring semester

and you can take summer classes which either go june to august or, june - july and july - august

So how does it work? It all seems completly different and I want to learn!

And does every uni have the same schedule? Or do some end or begin before others or have different breaks and all that?

    In sunny Huddersfield:

    End September - Christmas
    Early Jan - Easter
    Easter - Mid June.

Exams all at the end of the year.

So if you only have exams once, does that mean you have the same classes all year?

We do. Six modules/classes each at 2 hours per week for about 30 weeks or so.

    i don't!

my schedule is a bit like this:
    Mid september-week before xmas
    Mid january- week before easter
    week after easter-end of may

i have 8 modules per year, 4 of which are only 6 weeks long, and the rest are 12 weeks long. We have 12 week semesters, unlike the rest of the uni that only has 10.

    For me it's...

End of Sept - just before Christmas
Started back today :( and then 'til just before Easter
    After Easter - Mid June.

First semester is twelve weeks and 3 modules.
Second semester is the same but I do different modules.
Third semester is the examination period.

I only have exams for my second semester subjects (I don't know if that changes in the second year) as my first semester modules were all assessed by coursework.
