odious man of course, but still surely this jsut makes a mockery of justice that a man can have bail removed from him, without being able to challenge the evidence that's caused it

and if it's that secret, why did the sun run a story a few weeks ago...... which is basically
Before the hearing, it was reported that Abu Qatada was trying to flee the country, but Mr Justice Mitting, sitting with two other immigration judges, said that the cleric’s declared interest in renouncing his Jordanian citizenship and trying to go to the place of his birth — now in the Palestinian territories — did not amount to a breach of his bail.

so what is putting him behind bars, apparantly, can't even be challenged, surely arrangements can be made to keep it from the public in general whilst allowing the suspect to possibly correct or nullify it

no matter how nasty some people are, due process should be guranteed, not to mention indefinate detention :| yes, people are infallible, especially the SIS and MI5

This kind of case always is made harder to argue against given that he's hardly the type to inspire sympathy. But regardless of what he is accused of he deserves a decent open and fair trial, or he should be freed.
