Static removal

Hi,
Just ordered an evening dress out of my catalogue for a do i have on saturday. It's arrived, it fits, it's lovely but it's full of static. It's two layers, both layers are polyester. The trouble is when you put it on it goes all static around your legs. (never had this round bare legs before, usually when teamed with tights).
Does anyone know of any way of getting rid of this or is it here to stay?

Bit odoriferous as it sprays, but it doesn't leave a stench on your clothes.

Or for a fresher way, take a dryer sheet and rub it all over where the static is, on your legs and the dress, inside and out.

Thank you. Spent a bit of time googling it earlier and got the dryer sheet thing from that. Got the bounce sheets ready for saturday :thumb:
