Well, he's still in the member list - I'm sad, I looked - maybe they just have him tied up somewhere so he can't post.
    Outrageous.

    No funeral yet.

Been in Oz. -> Brother's wedding, SCUBA diving, Golf, surfin', catchin' up on sleep,... Must say didn't enjoy the flight back from Melbourne to London much. Oh well, it's a small price to pay.

It's good to know that there are so many good people like you guys out there.:) :)

Kinda makes the world a better place to live in. :):)

Have tried matey. Can't load up your faceparty page for some reason.

Did you take many? I'm sure that the weather must have been pretty good while you were in Melbourne.

Thx for looking out for me ;)

    Aha, success. Damn Cookies!

It's working for me . Oh well.

Yeah, I took loads of photos - cost me a fortune to develop them at Boots! There's only 5 or so on the faceparty.
Weather in Melbourne was mostly drizzly :(, but warm :).
When we were touring Victoria it was fanastic, so can't complain, and Sydney was hot hot hot!

Thanks for your tips btw, I got some good photos of the Dandenongs, and 12 Apostles etc.

Are there normally loads of bikers in Victoria? We seemed to pass loads on our travels...not good for them in the torrential downpour we had in Apollo Bay. :D

Would love to go back tho :)

Bikes?: Always - the Great Ocean Road is a brilliant ride on a bike - wet or dry. Have done it a few times myself. :D

    BTW nice pics of Sydney.

Top one is the MCG! (from the Rialto tower)
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
It's a good look out from up there isn't it?

What did you think of the rest of the view over towards the Botanical Gardens?

IMO: It's good to get away from London - in fact necessary - frequently. :(

Oh well maybe Greek Isles in Sept/Oct.

    *smiles and sighs*

Oh come on, London's not that bad - you must have missed all the Jubilee stuff...that's when London is at it's best. The summer in London is great (apart from the Tube :D).

Melbourne was very nice from the top of the tower, but a bit grotty from the ground! It was nice, but there was a (male) tramp dancing round in a slinky little dress , and that kind of puts you off a place :D. Maybe it was the drizzle...

Sounds like you have too many holidays (although I'm off the Ibiza in July, so I can't complain  :D)

Avoided the Jubilee stuff, instead sent my brother and his wife off to see all of the pagentary. Something for the tourists me thinks.

I just enjooyed a London unto myself given the other half tat weren't celebrating the Jubillee were out of town - so I guess in it's own way London hasn't been that bad. But I'm sure it's all down hill from here on in. :p:p:D:(

LOL re: your exposure to the some of the more cosmopolitan denizens of Melbourne. Where were you when you saw this 'party-guy', St Kilda:confused:

But I guess first impressions do count .

    'Party-guy', hmmm.
He was right in the middle of the town centre (if there is such a thing). Corner of Elizabeth St and another with trams on it (?Collins?)...can't remember but there is a giant purse thing there

Don't get me wrong, we had a great time in Melbourne - stayed at a really nice 'boutique' hotel just beyond the Fitzroy Gardens, and spent an afternoon in that monstrous Casino complex, which was entertaining :D.

But I still preferred Sydney :p

Sydney, Melbourne, it's an argument nobody seems to win except for the Melbournians. viz. the best kept secrets are the one's that nobody knows about.:p ;)

    *whimpers*

    *bursts out crying*

    I WANNA GO BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!!!

    ahem.

    *composes self*

Kentish, kind sir, would you happen to posses more photos you could post up? Seeing the 'G made me realise how much I actually miss home, and it's nice seeing things like that. Melbourne's changed a lot from how I remember it. :(

Anyone willing to fund me the price of a return ticket?

But you just went! I've not been back for five years!

Tell you what though, can you change my custom status while the self-important domineering mods are away, cos you're a kind mod. :)

I've got loads more photos, but I don't think I'll make myself popular with the mods by posting them all

How about the next theSite meet up is in Melbourne?
