Solid-state hard drive

HyperOS (multi-OS software) made their own HD's back in 2003/4 which involved a 5.25" bay and utilising battery-backed RAM banks, so that it essentially used RAM as your hard drive.

Now in 2008, I have seen some 2.5" drives that already have solid-state memory, so you don't need to fill it with RAM. They start at £120 for 32GB, so it's not quite in consumer range yet, but it's viable for the enthusiasts. Has anyone here had experiences with one of these yet? Are they available in 3.5", i.e. in a normal drive bay?
