I AM GETTING REALLY PISSED OFF WITH ALL THE NARROW MINDED PRICKS WHO ALWAYS ABUSE HESKEY, IF U ACTUALLY WENT TO LIVERPOOL GAMES AND WATCHED HIM INSTEAD OF GETTING YOUR FACTS FROM THE SUN AND STAR YOU MIGHT ACTUALLY REALISE WHAT A IMPORTENT PLAYER HE IS GOING TO BE IN JAPAN FOR ENGLAND (EVEN THOUGH WITH OUT STEVIE G THEY AINT EVEN GONA GET OUT OF THERE GROUP)I MEAN VASSELL IS CRAP, FOWLER IS CLASS BUT A LAZY TWAT AND WITH HIS BACK TO GOAL CAUSES NO DEFENCE ANY PROBLEMS, AND SHERRI GREAT MIND BUT THE LEGS ARENT THERE NO MORE, I MENA IS IT JUST AN AMAZING FLUKE THAT 2 OF THE GREATESS MANAGERS IN THE WORLD PREFER HESKEY TO FOWLER?? NO IT AINT..... AND WOULDNT BE SUPRISED IF OWEN DOESNT SCORE IN THE WORLD CUP COS EVER TIME HE WILL GET THE BALL THE POOR LITTLE SOD WILL HAVE 2 ARGIES KICKING THE CRAP OUT OF HIM, BUT THE AGAIN I WOULD BE SUPRISED IF HE SCORE A BAG FULL!! <IMG SRC="confused.gif" border="0" ALT="icon">

I dont recall Heskey actually being abused here recently? I certainly havent although I dont rate him as highly as others. And I have watched several liverpool games before you suggest otherwise- for me I think Liverpool should try much harder to accomodate Litmanen than Heskey. OK Heskey has the power but Litmanens ability is as good as any in the premiership this season.

As for being important in Japan- you would hope the whole team is going too be important since they are considered the top 23 in England. Personally every striker for me is going too have too play out of their skin because in terms of reputation on the world stage only Owen has made any impact really. When you compare that with Italy or France's frontine it can be worrying. BUT World Cups make and break players and hopefully some of ours can become one of the stars of the tournamount. And also aside from Power and physique, Fowler, on his day, is FAR better that Heskey in terms of finishing and play off the ball- look at the way he lures and peels of defenders. Heskey doesnt have the same effect, but running at people Heskey can pose a threat if he stays on his feet long enough.
I cant help but notice your undoubted bias towards liverpool players. Gerrard is a big loss undoubtedly but too say we wont qualify merely because he is absense isnt true in my opinion. Everyones entitled too their opinion and I can see why some people dont rate Heskey too highly but everyone deserves their chance so I think Im right in saying everyone is 100% behind him in this world cup.

and off the heskey issue for a sec, wtf is all the big who har with dyer?? noone evn thought of him playing on the left when barmby was there then about 2 months before the world cup in which he had played no part in helping england get there everyone jumps on the band wagon he has played 45 mins for england against paraguay and had an absolute fucking nightmare, i am not doubting his ability, he is and will be a class player but personally i hope he doesnt get fit in time cos he doesnt deserve to be there i would much rather david dunn in there than him

Ive always rated Dyer ever since I was watching him week in, week out at Portman Road- He did have a nightmare against Paraguay but he has been great for Newcastle this season when fit and for England in the past.

I am praying he will be fit.
Id have taken Dyer, maybe taken Dunn instead of Sinclair

Again a comment which proves you hav difficulty understanding what is going on around you, David Dunn hasn't played for England and isn't as good as Dyer, so that a fucking stupid point

Have highlighted in ebbs quote the main point. He is NEVER on his feet.
Sheringham will do just as well in his place and score a couple along the way.
Remember England Holland Euro 96? Sheringham and Shearer? Now we will have Sheringham and Owen.

I would rather use Heskey as a substitute and start with Fowler because he scores more goals (stating the obvious)

Heskey is a good player but it puts all the burden on Owen to score our goals (especially with no Gerrard or Dyer).

Considering the conditions In Japan it would be great to bring heskey on for 20/30 minutes at the end if we need a goal....
