Rent

for those of you who rent a property. How does the rent work out monthly?

If rent is say £115 a week, do you just multiply by 4 and get £460, or is there something to do with the days in the month? :confused:

    The rent works out monthly by multiplying the weekly figure by 52 and dividing by 12. If you multiply by four you won't get the right figure as there are more than four weeks in a month.

    A rent of £115pw will be £498pcm.

    I once had a land lord who put the wrong price on the contract he had already signed - it was much lower than the price i'd been paying for the previous 9 months = i duely signed it and sent it back. He didnt' notice until i reduced the monthly payment

    To convert weeks into months, times by 4.33 (four and a third]

    Reasoning:

    Year = 52 weeks
    Month = 52/12 = 4.33 (recurring)

    Reference to Calvin's post: £110 x 4.33 weeks = £498.33
