How long to wait

BunnieBunnie Posts: 6,099 Master Poster
before I apply for a job within the same company.

I have been working for a company for a week and I want to enquire about the possibility of getting another position.

How long should I wait until I enquire?

It sounds bad, but it is a training contract and that is what I want/need.

If its for the same company, I would do it straight away.

Time waits for no man (or woman) :p

Yeah, make it clear. If they have any sense they will be happy at your determination.

No point in spending months passing the time of day.

I did it but they were rubbish, so I am going to leave it a month or so and speak with my boss and see what he suggests.

At the company I am employed with we have to wait for 6 months in any specific job role before we can apply for another, unless of course our current role is being made redundant. They will make exceptions with your managers approval though which means the people that really want to do something that are loyal and hardworking get the chance to go for a more suited role.
