Question About ID

I have a card with the PASS logo on, but it has expired. Would I still be able to use it as ID?

Depends entirely on how much attention the assistant at the shop pays to the card. Some of them never check these things, let's face it.

Erm i know a few places that wont accept pass cards, because its so easy to get one without enough checks.

were you using it ok before it expired? if so it should be ok, chances are they wont notice or mind if its out of date by a short time

i work at wetherspoons and it depends entirely on the person behind the bar. normally i just check picture and whether its real. but someone who is higher up might be really harsh and pick it out.

normally bouncers dont pick that kind of thing up. a guy came up to me last week with a passport, it had expired and it wasnt even him...and this is with bouncers on the door. :)

Surely with PC's and printers and copiers and the net ...everyone just forges them ...no?

Very possible. In several magazines, I've seen adverts in the back for websites which specialise in making fake ID. Ultimately however, every single form of ID could be forged if you've got the right equipment.

it obviously can but it wont necesserily work. at work we have a uv light which we use to detect the hologram. and theres also an increasing number of bars/clubs limiting the id you can use.

If it's a kind of card they'd accept if it hadn't expired, I don't see why they wouldn't if it has. I don't suppose there's a chance that someone got younger after their card expired.

that is why lots of places here only accept passport or driving licence as id now.

That's just stupid. It also means for people (like me) who can't drive for a medical reason, have to pay £72 just so I can get served. (I'm 18, but look younger)

It's only passport or full driving license in most places 'round here now, too. Obviously depends on the pub - if they do bother to check then they check properly.

My [30 year old] friend got denied a pint by the barman in one of the toon's more salubrious watering holes the other weekend because he only had a provisional license. I laughed. My pal came back with "you don't look a day over 13 lad" to which the barman replied "yeah, but I can drive." I laughed again. End of pointless story.
