You don't have to be anytning so long as you have money and your own passport. However if you fly alone and you are under 16 you have to have a MINOR pass and the hostesses ask if you want a colouring book.

I may be wrong, but at 15 I spent a few months in Spain and flew their alone fine.

Maybe you need parental consent when buying the tickets though.

i think you can be any age if you are going out to stay with someone but on your own i think you have to be 16. you dont have to be 18 because i went last year (17) to kavos in greece <IMG SRC="biggrin.gif" border="0" ALT="icon"> wicked place by the way!

I'm a geographer. I have the colouring book, and my own pencils. And then my degree is colouring books.... apparently.

with a passport, a visa and an appropriate ticket, you can go anywhere.

one thing that i have noticed is that small children have to be accompanied by a flight attendant. meaning, they are basically carted around by the airline's staff until their destination.

I've been flying on my own since the age of 10.

Maybe you have to be over a certain age for package deals, but otherwise you can travel to any destination alone.

By the way, the they stopped offering me the coloring books by the age of 11, maybe I should complain...
