    That is truly unexpected, I couldn't believe it at first; he had such a bright future ahead of him. He seemed relatively "stable" in Hollywood terms, too, goes to show how little we know about people's demons be they drug addiction or anything else.

    My heart goes out to his family, in particular his little daughter who's going to grow up without her dad. I feel ill thinking about that :( Too sad for words really.

    I burst into tears when the bulletin came on the news. I'm so shocked and saddened by this. I cannot believe it - he was one of my all time fave actors and A Knight's Tale is one of my all time fave films.

    I'm so gutted.

    I hated that film, though i thought he was brilliant in his other roles.

    i must say this has shocked me loads, was only looking at the dark knight trailer the other day and how good Ledger looked playing the joker

    i have read quite a lot of things online about him dying and the one thing that was pleasantly surprised me is that not one person was said a bad word against him. you really dont see that these days...especially in the world of celebrity!

    When i heard it on the radio that a Hollywood actor had died the last name i expected it to be was his. I'm with Malteser Monkay on this, he was one of the few Hollywood stars that i had a crush on. Loved the films of his that i saw, he just seemed to have the likability factor that a lot of stars lack. To be fair though some of the interviews he's given recently he was a bit strange for him.

    I honestly thought it was a joke at first or a mistake, you know how the media messes up sometimes and the person pops up a bit later going, "I was very surprised to read the news of my death, because well, I'm not."

    I was reading the article on MSN going "Its Heath Ledger for gods' sake. He's not a junkie (I thought), he's talented, he seems a genuinely nice guy." But the article quoted his dad, so I guess it must be true :( I liked him.

    His poor family, especially his kid, she's only 2. She won't even remember him :(

    TBH I thought that he was okay as an actor but nothing special, but rumours of Joker are pretty interesting. It's a shock for sure - there are a few others that I would expect to go before him.
