i took my pc to uni with me in Leeds as i found it really annoying not to be able to spread all my books and stuff out when i'm doing an essay also in the pc labs at uni there is always some one sat next to you who decides to talk to their mate really loudly. most uni's have plenty of pcs and i found that the rooms stay open till late ( 24 hours in the run up to the summer) but that doesn't help you when its 2 o clock in the morning and you have an essay due in at 9 and all you want to do is fall in to bed the minute you finish it. so basically what i'm trying to say is just take the pc and make sure its covered onthe insurance as mine was covered by my parents household insurance so check the policy
