I know its old news, but it did make me laugh

Forgive me, but the old ones are still the best;

Nothing new here, but it did give me a chuckle.

    Hehe, some Americans still think that they actually won that war.

    These same Americans probably don't even know where Vietnam is.

    I would be supprised if a majority of Americans knew where Vietnam was.

    I'd be stunned if a majority of Britons could identify Vietnam on an unmarked map.

    Lol. I doubt many Britons would mistake Australia for Vietnam though. "It's funny, because I just realised how much bigger North Korea is than South Korea."

    There's a lot of evidence that the American Government knew perfectly well that the attack had never occurred, in particular Robert Macnamara in his advisory role, and that the friendly fire incident was recognised as an extremely useful opportunity to get involved in Vietnam. Very interesting guy Macnamara, very intelligent, and quite possibly wracked by guilt for having made some pretty wrong decisions - I highly recommend a documentary called 'The Fog Of War' which basically primarily consists of a sit-down conversation between him and an interviewer - very interesting stuff, and he certainly comes across as a man who probably has a hard time looking himself in the eye in the mirror some mornings.
