i got one in the summer, and it was really nice, but it wrecks your hair. only do it if you don't colour your hair...

Katie Melua has one and I think her hair is gorgeous.

My sisters a hairdresser and I was thinking about getting it permanatly straightened which is similar to a perm with the treatment they use but apparently it makes your hair really dry.

But if you spend ages curling it everyday I reckon you should go for it.

Ask to see pictures of perms that your hairdresser has done before.

My mums a hairdresser and has always tld me not to get it done, but i think it depends on the intensity etc...

But that stuff drys out you hair alot and make sure you know the brand of products they're using in your hair, the cheap stuff (or inadequite) will really stuff up your hair

A friend of mine had hers permed a few months ago, it didn't look like she hoped for the first couple of weeks but once it dropped it looked great.
    Go for it.

I think you should go for it, a loose perm can look beautiful!

Just be sure to go to a decent salon, not one where the usual clientele are old dears, as you may end up with a perm and a blue rinse!

I know, I know, it immediately conjurs up scary images from the '80s.

But I'm sick of curling my hair manually.

Is getting a very loose perm still a horrible mistake?

Can we please have confirmation here that it is infact you ellie that posted that, i swear a short while ago kermit made a post while you were still logged in!;)
