Leicester New Years Eve

Going into Leicester on New Year's Eve for a few hours and having never been there before (sheltered life i know) i just wondered if anyone has any suggestions of some good bars to head to or a street which has a lot of the nightlife on (might sound daft but got a group of us going out and am trying to organise it and need to work out an itinerary and getting dropped off at the busier road/place would be a good start).
Any help appreciated and yes have googled already but always think honest opinions are helpful.
