My ex girlfriend is at uni in Lancaster. I personally hate the place, it's cold, damp and miserable and if it wasn't for uni we'd still be together *bitter*

Hello. Me in Lancaster. Living off campus (in galgate) but am 1st year. Quite like the place, but a bit damp and depressing sometimes. Would be cool to meet people from off here...everything my mum warned me about not using the net to meet strange people suddenly seeming pretty silly! do u live in galgate cos u couldnt get accomdation on campus? i betits a pain in the arse for getting into uni aswell!

im getting used to the cold and the rain but yeah it can get very depressing sometimes!!

what college are u in? (im cartmel but uve prob seen that said by me b4 lol)

I'm in my third year now, and I live in Caton (it's a fucking long way to go in the morning) with my girlfriend.
I'm a Comp Sc. Student and a dedicated Chlid of Fergus (County College Tree).
I can't decide whether to do a PhD at the moment, but maybe I'll see you round campus.
You can usually find me in The Venue or around George Fox

PS, does anyone know what County C Floor NW kitchen is called now? To us it was always "The Chesney Kitchen"...

Well, I'm at "The University of Central Lancashire" and thus I live in merry old Preston! I accidentally caught a train to Lancaster a while back, I was drunk and it was early morning... you may have heard about a tall stranger handing out Hotline train magazines to fellow drunkards through your fair town!

My sis went to Lancaster uni, she was in County college in the first year. Nice place, I like the castle, but a town with just one club? It must be nice to be near Manchester and Blackpool though? Does Lancaster Uni have a lot of southern people? At Cardiff nearly everyone is from the south, they think anywhere north of watford is "oop north"!

I have applied for Cardiff and am coming down next wednesday to see the uni (psyc dept open day)and crash at a friend of mines house, she is gonna take me out and show me the craic.

What are your opinions of Cardiff from all i have heard it sounds reall cool, but is its full of Savveners I might just change my mind about the place <IMG alt="image" SRC="tongue.gif" border="0">

I would say Cardiff Uni is about 2/8 Welsh, 5/8 Southerners, and 1/8 Northerners/Midlanders. Not including all the foreign students. That's just my experience though! It may be just the English and Philosophy departments. Is it the proper open day? Enjoy yourself, it's pretty good, but if you go, do NOT live at Colum Rd!

It's really noisy (next to the business school so you get all the foreign students shouting at each other in different languages outside your bedroom!), no shops anywhere near by, no social facilities! You do get a bathroom between two though. But I hate it, and I have to go back on Sunday :-(

Who said we only have one club? There's the Sugarhouse, Liquid, Elemental, Brooks', The Varsity (more of a bar), The Warehouse and The Carleton (Double Gloucester on Toast!) in Morecambe. :P
Plus of course, we have Blackpool, Preston and Manchester not too far away.

I was in County College 3 years ago. Do they still do Extravs there in the summer? Ours was the best, I'll never forget that night, when everyone got completely utterly pissed and then had to face the most awful car journey ever, going home with their parents the next day for the summer with the hangover from hell.
