at how much difference a pan can make in the end result! I have always cooked steak on the stove/hob and it was never THAT good. Then i bought a new pan the other day, a non-stick skillet and OH MY DEAR GOD!!!!! I have never cooked such yummy steak!

I had the same thing with oven trays in uni. Never knew what I was missing until I had chips without bits of flaked-off oven tray coating all over them.

Those Teflon bits are really bad for you. FYI don't use metal utensils on your non-stick pans. It will make the Teflon flake off and it's a known carcinogen.

We used plastic utensils on our Teflon coated things and it still flakes off.

I don't have a frying pan. I figured if I don't buy one I'll eat a lot less fried foods!

It's not really frying, its just cooking it with the heat in the pan...the only time i add oil is if i'm making pepper steak and that's only to keep the pepper stuff on. Other times i'd usually use a basting sauce or something just to keep the meat moist.

How else would you cook them unless you only eat them at BBQ's :p
