Where to stay when going to Paris?

I'd liek to surprise Himself with a trip to Paris, as he's never been and I think he'd love it. I've been to Calais and Paris but for a romantic getaway, you can't beat aul Paris...

Can anyone recommend a nice hotel, close to touristy destinations? Last time I was there I was 13 on a school trip. We stayed in a dirty hostel so I really haven't a clue.
