Ah yes, because goals are the only measure of good form for a striker aren't they? He's got two assists this season, and any Everton fan will tell you he's worked really hard up front for them.
Oh jeeez give me a break, so lets say Owen in England team works really really really hard, sets a couple of goals up but doesn't score for 10 games, everyone (including you) would be calling for his head!! A striker is judged on goals, fact.
Give me a break. Heskey was picked entirely on his form for Wigan. He's been great this season. I probably wouldn't have picked him to start, but I certainly would've picked him in the team.
Heskey was picked because of his and Owens understanding as a strike partnership and the fact there was no-one else fit, if Crouch and Rooney had of being fit/not suspended, he wouldn't of even got in the squad...another fact and I don't believe you would have picked him in the squad but whatever.
So your opinion is based on 2 matches for England? Not the previous 2 years, where in SWP or Aaron Lennon, we've had at least one right-sided midfielder that was on better form that Beckham (and in many cases, more threatening in their ten minute cameo than Beckham was for the previous 80 minutes)? Beckham got back in the squad based on his club form, like it should be, but he was in the squad despite his club form and fitness for a long time before he was dropped. That was my point about Beckham. On a tactical note, I think the team is far more threatening going forward with a proper winger in the team.
Well you can't be talking about SwP's for the last 2 years?? Only thing he's done is sit on the bench for Chelsea and like you say should not be picked if hes not playing (or do the rules change for SwP's).
Aaron Lennon I agree but like SwP's when he was at Man City, he's just not good enough yet, there both different players to Beckham but neither of them can put a ball into the box with the quality Beckham did and still does! Don't get me wrong I love a fast little winger, its exciting to watch but I'd rather a ball get put on the money from deeper than a guy skin 2 defenders and then cross it into the stadium!! Aaron Lennon is still one for the future, SwP's is getting there, he's a lot closer than 2 years ago and maybe I'd give him a run in the side now, I wouldn't have before!!
So what? The point is that I wouldn't pick Hargreaves ahead of Barry purely on the fact that he's fit. I would pick Hargreaves because Barry and Hargreaves have both played well this season, and I think Hargreaves is a slightly better player. I certainly wouldn't pick Hargreaves ahead of Barry if Hargreaves had been playing like shit for about 6 months, and Barry was on fire, purely on the basis that he's "proven for England."
Don't think Hargreaves has being anything special this year, but someone who's seen more of him might be able to tell me different, so if he'd have being fit he would be picked purely on previous England performances, which to me is good enough!!

Your saying you should get picked on club form, that means Fat Frank would start every game in your team?? I personally would give people playing well for their clubs a chance, if they do it for England on a regular basis and continue doing it for England even if their club form drops then they would stay in the team!! Its England form that matters not club form!!
If Heskey and Barry continue their respective form for their clubs, then they should start the next England match.
Well, I couldn't give a fuck if they played shite for their clubs up until the next game, they should start for England!! Think this is where me and you differ!! Not everyone can bring club form into England (Fat Frank) but the way your talking thats what they should get picked on!!
I would've picked SWP because he's been excellent for Chelsea this season, and Beckham has been injured for a while, so most likely wouldn't have been match fit for England. If he had been match fit, it would depend on his form.
Again this is where we differ, Beckhams last england outings he's being the star man, why would you drop him?? Just like Barry was outstanding the last 2 games, why would you drop him?? Irrespective of what hes doing for his club, he could stink the field out for his club, if hes doing it for England he's in my team, as soon as his England form drops then get him out.
    I think its pretty simple.
