This is weird. Only today, I was looking up on the internet what exactly was in pesto, because I've never really known. And then I had pasta & pesto for lunch earlier.

Anyway, I had a look at this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pesto

Don't know anything about red pesto. Google is your friend.

Pesto is yum, red pesto is the best, but I love tomatos. Its just crushed basil, parmesan and oil. Red pesto is the same, just add some sundried tomatos to it. :yum: Can add garlic too if you want.

It's like spaghetti sauce but without all the water!!

Thicker , more flavour .. very easy to make a meal from it - some pasta, some red pesto and courgettes fried and you have an instant veggie meal.

red pesto is the nicest. Its usually sun dried tomatos, pine nuts and olive oil. But there is lots of different ingredients you could use.

I love green pesto, but don't like red pesto (hate sundried tomato).

Fry some onions, courgettes, (red pepper is optional) mushrooms and bacon in a pan with some garlic, add creme fraiche and green pesto, and voila, one of the most stunning pasta sauces ever. Eat with spaghetti for best results lol.

I didn't think there was parmesan in the normal green pesto.

I thought only red pesto had the cheese in it.. but whatever. they are both lush.

And lipsy is right, Sacla do the best ones ! YUMMY

2 for £2 in tesco at the moment! lol
