Anyone seen it?

I've watched it twice now and, obviously with it being a Michael Moore film, you have to take a lot of what he says with a pinch of salt but personally I think it's his most intelligent and thought-provoking film yet. Definitely a good way to spend two hours.

Quite frightening about how the American Healthcare system works really.
Beep boop. I'm a bot.

I haven't seen it yet, but I want to. When's it out on DVD because I'll probably just rent it? I remember the episode of 30 days where Morgan Spurlock and his girlfriend had to survive on minimum wage though. He knackered his arm up, and ended up having to spend all of their money at the doctors (including $30 for "medical supplies" which consisted of the tiniest length of bandage).

What? It's the best in the world, if only the NHS was as great

I haven't seen Sicko yet, although I will because I'm interested in what Moor has to say on the subject. Given his previous films I suspect that it will praise the NHS and other state run services, I get the feeling that he's a socialist at heart, but he will completely avoid commenting on the pitfalls of these services...

Indeed, the NHS is the third largest employer in the world, can you imagine how a US wide NHS would work?

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the film, without wanting to give away too much of it, is the shocking expose on the Insurance companies who run the Health Industry apparently. Truly disturbing. The last scenes are particularly poignant.

Yes he does sing the praises of socialised healthcare but at the same time makes the quite interesting argument that Americans have quite a few socialised systems and they seem to work pretty well (Police, Fire Dept., Postal Service, Libraries) so why shouldn't healthcare be socialised too? As I said, you have to try and see through the Moore blinkers but I do think it's his best film yet.
