Do you call your Mum 'Mummy'?

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
What do you call your parents?

I went through a stage of calling my dad his actual name because I knew it pissed him off alot

I just call my mum, 'Mum'

but the other day I was in town and this really posh girl about a year or so older than me called her mum 'mummy' and just wandering how many other people call their mums 'mummy'

and do you call your brothers and sisters 'bro' or 'sis'?
i dont but on that stupid mouthwash advert that little boy calls his brother 'big bro' or something.

I say mummy and daddy when talking to them or my siblings.

With my mates I just say "my ma and da."

ETA:Oh and for my siblings, their first names or "you fucking wanker" ;)

I call my parents 'mummy' and 'daddy' when i want something from them and in christmas cards and things.

If i'm annoyed with them I call them 'Mother' and 'Father'. I don't think I hardly ever call them mum and dad, though if I did I would probably preface it with a me as in me mum and me dad.

I fink its coz i'm well posh innit

ETA - I just call my sister by her name when talking to her - though obviously I might refere to her as my sister when talking to other people.

My Mum is 'Mum' and my Dad was 'Dad'... I did know a few people who called them Mummy and Daddy but I always thought it sounded a little strange.

Oddly Andy's Dad sometimes refers to Andy's Mum as 'Mummy' when talking about her...

On the whole I call my mum 'mum' and my dad 'dad'. Sometimes I called my dad by his first name, but I found out he didn't like that so now I only use it when we fall out. I have nicknames for them sometimes which go in and out, but it's pretty much always mum and dad. I call my brother by his first name, or again some stupid nickname.

Although a couple of my friends call their parents by their first names, and have since about the age of 12 which I thought was unusual.

No. I have never called my parents Mummy or Daddy. Maybe when I was about two.

I think people who do are either really immature or are spoilt brats who get everything they want.

 Its just natural for me. But I'm a little kid at heart and super close to the both of them. Ed thinks its funny I say papa, says hes never heard anybody use that before, but my sister does too. It would be funny to call him anything but. Except for, hey retard!

ahahahah - yes thats so totally me though my parents would never buy me a poney - meanies - however "daddy" does still pay my credit card bill (or rather one of them though I don't actully ever put anything on it - especially since I dont' hve a pin number so its impossible to use these days!)

Hum thinking about it I think they would prefer it if they were called mum and dad

Mam and dad. I call my brother by his name unless I'm talking to people about him that don't know him then I'll say brother.

I call them mum and dad, but my mum calls herself mummy, and refers to my dad as 'daddy'. My dad refers to my mum as eith mummy, or 'your mom' (he's not american, he's a brummie).

Pretty sure my brother still calls them mummy and daddy. He's not posh or immature, it's just force of habit.

Exactly, it might be seen as posh and snobby over the water but it's not that way here.
