someone not cutting their grass to the way you like it is slightly different to someone wanting the UK to be bombed and for innocent people to die.

What about white supremicists and nationalist extremeists? Should they be deported too?

Indeed, one is an action the other is an opinion. Personally I think actions are more important.

Point is that we live in a "free" country where people are supposed to be allowed to have an opinion. In this case, fine those convicted were preaching hatred, but they were only voicing opinions. When they act, when they cause death or injury, then they should face jail.

Why, have they been plotting to kill us as well?

Well they are not too friendly to certain people in the UK are they? They still are advocating violence towards others.

    Yeah...

And there're probably far more people caught trying to prepare terrorist acts than we are led to believe. Let's be fair, the media is selective in what it shows us.

But they're not planning on killing good ole whitey so it's alright. ;)

Let's not forget David Copeland's nail bombing campaign in 1999.

Let's remind ourselves that one of these men didn't even make any threats to the UK or its citizens but to other nations.

I wasn't even aware we could or did prosecute people for making threats against third parties outside the UK. Have the US and Denmark even bothered to report him to the authorities? Would an Australian be jailed if he was observed chanting 'Bomb New Zealand'? Like fuck he would...

The thing that pisses me off most is that if they'd just gone and gangraped a Danish woman instead, they'd have got less time in prison.

The law in this country is an ass. That said, the hate-filled fuckers should have gone to prison, and I won't be shedding many tears for them.

The lefties that dominate P&D have something in common with these nutters. Both groups hate this country, and want to see it transformed into something else. "Islamic" extremists want to turn the UK into a Sharia state, whilst Guardian-reading Lefties want to turn it into a socialist, banana republic. Both groups hate the idea of independent thought - hence why give me such a hard time for voicing my opinion, and try to denounce me as a fruitcake.

Both groups, however, are also realistic enough to know that deep down, nobody agrees with them. If you speak to the man or woman on the street, they will almost certainly agree with me - the sentence was too lenient, and they should be deported at once. Now, who's going to be humble enough to admit I'm right for once?

Yeah, we should deport all people who are on the dole and refuse to work, all British people who dislike the government too.
How are you going to fit about 59 million people onto a plane? Even the working class cabins on a Virgin plane is going to struggle to take that many. :p

Yes SG, I hate the United Kingdom so much. Praise Allah  There are obviously people who agree with us "lefties" as well. And i think you are seriously misjudging if you think every single person in the countey hates the government. Im not its biggest fan, but if its so unpopular why has it been elected three times?

Also deported where? They are British Citizens

Actually 3 of them did make threats to the UK, the other was done for inciting racial hatred.

    From the BBC
Mizanur Rahman, 24, Umran Javed, 27, and Abdul Muhid, 24, were each jailed for six years for soliciting to murder after telling a crowd to bomb the UK.
Finally, Abdul Muhid, 24, said to be the leader of the demonstration, chanted "Bomb, bomb the UK" and waved placards with slogans such as "Annihilate those who insult Islam".

As I said I think 6 years is too much, but lets not pretend these were a bunch of innocents having a bit of a moan with their mates...

yes i really hate this country, way to go with the assumptions

i actually like this country, i just dislike the current government a lot and the people who don't pay enoguh attention to politics to fall for the soundbites - even then msot are alright people

anyway, with the current scale of terroism in this country, yes it's serious but at the same time, it's not that serious it needs curtailing of civil liberties of people who just disagree with the government which is what is happening, or requiring everyone of my moves followed, when i've done nothing wrong

I doubt it would have been the same outcome had their surnames been Sayed and Muhid, don't you think?

Of course. I suspect, however, that isn't going to stop you from wanting to give your own definition of the term. So, feel free to do so now.

Are you suggesting that juries are more likely to convict those who don't have names that sound, shall we say, traditionally British?

You know the origin of the term sg? United Fruits running Honduras for the benefit of US capital?

My God, you're so self centred and up yourself, it's quite sad. Yes Stargalaxy, we all attack your opinions because you made them. We're all wrong, and you're naturally speaking for the intelligent majority. We attack your opinion because we're all "lefties," nothing to do with the fact that most of your posts have the critical thinking skills and political understanding of a member of the primary school debate team. You resort to playing the victim, accusing other of attacking you, rather than actually responding intelligently to any of the points but to you. Plenty of people on this site express right-wing viewpoints on occasion (though naturally, most of them are far too intelligent to call themselves right wing, because only an idiot actually falls for this bullshit right-left politics based on tribalism), and everyone is more than happy to debate with them, because they don't resort to "leftie" and "nutters" as soon as someone doesn't agree with them. Now, maybe if we could get back to the debate, you might actually answer some of the questions put to you, rather than trying to make out that you're some sort of martyr for the right-wing cause?

So are you saying that two independent juries are both racist?

Got any proof of that, or are you just being a noggin?

I'm saying people are influenced by the mass hysteria, yes.

Why are you so surprised? Given the indescribably harsh sentences given to the cartoon protesters, there is a very good argument for saying even judges are influenced by mass hysteria agenda pushing by the press.
