Foreign Currency - Does this type still exist?

I found Bank of Israel notes in one of my drawers (god knows how they got there, I don't know anyone who has been there)

Anyway, I have around 12,500 worth and when I converted in using a currency converter it says that it was worth around £1,400.

I just wanted to check if anyone could tell me if Israel changed it's currency or am I actually sitting on nearly a grand and a half?

As far as I am aware the Sheqel is the currency of Israel (NIS) - is that what you have?

The notes don't even say anything. Like "Sterling" "Dollar" etc. They just say Bank of Israel

Depends on whether they are Lira or NIS (New Israeli Shekel) - Lira is the old currency, but so old that I don't even remember it, not even sure it existed in my lifetime).

Must be the old currency, the notes look nothing like on that website.

Have you tried taking them to a travel agents yet to see if they can tell you whether they're the new ones or not?
