Difficult situation

How important is sex in a relationship?

My boyfriend and I have been together for about 7 months and we have had sex less times then you can count on two hands. This is only because he has major back problems and to have sex can hurt him a lot.

I can live without having sex for a while but it is getting a little frustrating for the both of us. I caught him watching porn a few times after coming home from working graveyard shifts and work which put a very deep hole in our relationship... but should I really be mad?

I get so depressed sometimes that I don't even do anything to pleasure myself... could this be bad for me?

This is a really frustrating matter and sometimes I find myself thinking... is it really worth it sometimes.

Advice would be much appreciated

I believe in most relationships it is very important, it is the most natural way to get to know your partner intimately. Relationships can survive without sex but that tends to be only after being together for many years in my experience. Lets face it, if one of you isn't being fulfilled, then it becomes easy to stray and that is never a good sign of a stable long lasting relationship!
