Will it ever stop? Where's summer? At least there won't be any hosepipe bans this summer though!

Tell me about it. The fish are swimming around the lawn although now they could either be on the drive, in the horse field or down the lane. The lane has turned into a river and the actual river has flooded onto the field.

dunno but yorkshire is a big mess of flood. Sheffield station and Meadowhall station both closed and half the roads around where i live are shut so Laura has been trying to get home by some circuitous route for about 2 hours.

    OOER.

I've just been to watch cricket, even though it's chucking it down in Bristol. 20/20 was reduced to 10/10. Still entertaining though plus Gloucestershire won :yippe:

The offices in the North of England were flooded, so it meant I actually had to do some work today

We've had bugger-all rain here. Like, we've had some... but nothing exciting like floods!
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
It was quite hot earlier at times here. Fuck all rain to report off.

Some poor man died after being caught in a drain somewhere in England, shite buzz.

Yeah that was in Hull, i still can't figure out how a drain had killed him, are we talking about a normal drain you find in the road? Wouldn't the water have to be over 5ft deep?

I don't live far from Sheff.

    I've just got home.

The shop I work in closed 3/4 of an hour early because a girl that works there got a phone call to say her car was floating.

We all had to ring round to try and get lifts etc... but all the mobile phones were down. I eventually got in contact with my mum who was coming to collect me... she set off 2 miles away from the town centre where I work and it took her 3 and a half hours to get to me... I stopped at the pub (which was leaking) and had a drink and food. :D

About every exit from town is neck-high with water. Luckily my house is OK. Pretty scary though.

Yeh think so, from what I gather he was trying to unblock the drain and got his foot caught, it was too murky for rescuers to see how to free him and they were thinking of chopping his foot off to free him so I assume he just drowned as the water level rose, what a shitty way to go.
