RAR password

Every time I set a .rar password and I then test it out I am never asked for the password, how do I do it?

    You have to create an archive with the password I think.

    It can be an empty archive, then you can just drag stuff to it at will :)

    Actually funny you say that, I got given a stack of porno but I cannot be arsed to convert it from DVD to DivX. Did attempt to lastnight and tried a 1GB scene and it was gonna take forever!

    Any way, it's WinRar. I think I got it now, you add the files you want and then add a password to the files.

    you can encrypt any file (like a .rar or .zip archieve) with axcrypt if you dont like the way winrar does it. easy peasy program to use too.

    I prefer TrueCrypt for encryption, it's one of the best pieces of encryption software around.

    i remember putting a password in one of my rar archives a couple of years back.... took me almost 5 months of non stop brute force attack until i could get it open... if you put a password in your archive, make sure you stash that password somewhere that you can access.
