Re: im at breaking point.
jesus christ your dad is so toxic. i hope you get to move out someday to get away from him @eylah
Re: Feeling stressed
Thanks for reaching out @TheNightmare I can really hear how you are struggling with this at the moment. You are definitely not alone in this though, as I myself (and I'm sure many other people), have felt the same feeling of anxiousness and frustration you describe about future career plans etc. You're so brave for getting it down and venting with us, it can definitely be such a confusing point in life.
Remember we are all here for you and it's important to be kind to yourself
Often these things don't happen instantly but all of us here really believe in you and know you'll get there. Whilst it might seem like others are progressing around you, everyone is on their own path and there is no race to get there.
What might be useful during this time is creating more structure within your day - sometimes a bit of routine can help to clear your mind. Eg. Carving out specific time each day to do your hobbies, applications or go for a walk etc.
Keep looking after yourself, we're here for you

Topic-specific support group this Thursday: University!
Hello everyone!
Our next topic-specific support group on Thursday will focus on university. With us entering September and it being the start of uni season, we thought we'd organise a chat for people to connect over starting university for the first time, or going back to university for a new term after the summer break. So whether you're nervous about entering your first year, or you're struggling with the thought of returning to uni after the long summer break, let's all be there to support one another.
The format of this session will be the same as Support Chat (and you don't need to sign up!). Just head to our online support groups page to join the topic-specific session at 8pm on Thursday.
The structure will be:
8:00pm - 8:15pm | Opening round
8:15pm - 9:20pm | Support time
9:20pm - 9:30pm | Closing round
Any questions feel free to comment them below. We hope to see you there

Re: Grief
I'm really sorry for your loss, Chloe. Losing someone as special as your aunt, especially when she was such an important part of your life, is incredibly hard. It’s completely understandable that you’re feeling this way, especially on her birthday. It sounds like she was an amazing person who made a big impact on your life, stepping in when you needed her the most. That kind of love and care doesn’t just go away - it stays with you, and it’s okay to miss her deeply.
Grief doesn’t have a timeline, and certain days, like today, can bring those feelings to the surface more intensely. Allow yourself to feel what you need to feel, there's no need to rush into distracting yourself if you’re not ready. Sometimes just sitting with those emotions and remembering the good times can be a way of honouring her memory.
As you prepare for college on Thursday, try to be gentle with yourself. It’s a big step, and it’s okay to feel a little off balance right now. Maybe you can find a small way to carry her with you as you start this new chapter - whether that’s through a keepsake, a memory, or even just thinking about the strength she showed when she cared for you. That strength is a part of you too.

Re: does anyone else have a separate account to the discussion boards or is it just me?
Thank you for your help everyone!
Just wanted to confirm this is all correct what you've spoken about here and apologies it's all a bit confusing. We do have plans to update our website at some stage so this won't be a permanent thing!
@toffuna101 just to confirm your account is one for The Mix's website and there's another one for the discussion boards which is a separate account. It's confusing because the 'log in' button for the website is still visible for the discussion boards at the top of the page, so you'll usually ending up logging in to both accounts! If you would like us to delete your account on the website, do let us know by sending an email to community@themix.org.uk.
To log in to the discussion boards, you can use this link - https://community.themix.org.uk/entry/signin
Any other questions, let us know!

Re: does anyone else have a separate account to the discussion boards or is it just me?
This website is split into a few different sections, and you need a separate account for all of them. The main site, the boards, and chat all need separate accounts. You can use the same log in details but you do have to register separately on each. It’s a bit dumb, but it’s always been this way. The boards are ran by a platform called vanilla, so your account isn’t actually with the mix it’s with vanilla. Same with chatwee, chat is on chatwee so your account is with chatwee, not the mix if that Ames any sense at all.
Re: im at breaking point.
Hey @eylah, I just wanted to check in to see how you're doing this morning? I'm really sorry that your dad has been acting in this way towards you. You deserve kindness, particularly after what you've been through.
Did you manage to look into some of those links I shared above? It's really positive that you mentioned being open to them.
It sounds like you were having a panic attack last night - it's no wonder you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed and stressed with everything going on. We're here for you - let us know how you're doing today.
