Where can I get help for domestic violence?

[Deleted User][Deleted User] Posts: 0 Just got here
Recently I used to get beaten up at home and I want to get help but psychiatrists are so expensive in Mallorca. I tried to contact Samaritans UK, but the number was barred. My best friend Ines offered to pay for one but I know she can't afford it. Any help would be so appreciated. Thanks.

I'm so grateful for those links, @Azziman I'll look them up later since I'm tired from the day and want to visit the Under 16's chat soon. I heard that Samaritans do operate in Spain after all, but got to find their number.

Ines is helping me a lot. In the last 2 days all what was finished cam flooding back and it's a struggle getting my self-esteem up but I've been working on the farmhouse keeping myself occupied. By the time 10pm comes round I'm ready for bed!

Thank you so much for your help. :)

Thank you so much for messaging me the phone number to Samaritans on the Spanish mainland. To save money I called them from our landline phone and one of the greatest most encouraging conversations for a very long time. I was crying a lot though having to tell them that Sophie was hit. I could hardly talk then, so upset I was, but the kind lady gave me such a lot of help and Sophie too when I handed the phone over.

My best friend Ines has been lovely, too. Next week she's going to see if a Samaritans office can be put on the island, example Palma. I feel stronger now and assured about how to proceed. I can't give much detail here because this is a public forum. You know what I mean? But feeling stronger now, I can get a grip on how to look after myself and our lovely youngster also.

    Your friend,

    Mandy <3

    Updating you @Azziman and @Mike

Azziman, thank you for finding the Samaritans phone number in mainland Spain and Mike for your hugs and best wishes. Samaritans were most compassionate. I found their advice comforting and later that same evening, Sophie got to talk to a lovely lady too.

Yesterday I found a counsellor in town and have booked some afternoon sessions so we can get get help for the brutality. And also I found another counsellor for Sophie, one who helps youngsters. So let's hope these sessions will be theraputic.

Thank you so much for your support, and other friends who have messaged me

    Just following up @Aife and @PuffinEthics @Azziman and @Mike

Soph and I are benefitting enormously from two counsellors, one which specialises in helping young children. The counsellor for Soph is being specially gentle.

After each session, we are collected by family and driven home. Purposefully we are not talked to much as that can undo what our counsellors have taught us. Later in the week, I talk to Soph to see how she has been coping. She's making very good progress and so am I. Obviously for personal reasons I can't enter into details except to say how marvellous counsellors or therapists are.

Thank you lots for your support. It means so much to us. :)
